I live close to the beach and I pretty much grew up in the sea (okay, and in swimming pools packed with chlorine;) ). Every time I go to the beach and get a nice sea bath, I don’t want to leave! I feel incredibly relaxed and when I go home my bed welcomes me with open arms. At night I have good, restful sleep and I feel energized on the next morning. Why is that? I think there are a couple of reasons for that.
The first reason is that going to the beach and spending time in the sea is spending time in nature, even if we don’t think about it that way. Most of us live in cities and our health is greatly affected by growing disconnected from nature. In fact, Dr. Joe Dispenza‘s studies show that simply listening to 2 hours of nature sounds every day may reduce stress hormones by 800% and may activate 500 to 600 DNA segments which are known to play a significant role in repairing and healing the body. If that’s true, if simply listening to nature sounds helps our body that much, imagine what actually spending time in nature will do to your body!
The second, and main reason is that salt is a natural energy cleanser. We use it in Pranic Healing during treatments to rid all dirty energy and prevent it from returning to your body. As healers we use it every night to wash away the dirty energy that may have attached itself to our body, from everyday interactions or from patients.
Good news is, you can replicate this from the comfort of your own home, and it is very simple to do! All you have to do is take a salt water bath. I recommend you first clean your bathtub, to make sure it’s not filled with old germs 😉 Then, take a shower and soap your entire body (it is not necessary to wash your hair). Rinse yourself, rinse the bathtub, and start filling the tub with warm water. Add one kilo (two pounds) of salt and soak in there for 20 minutes maximum. You can also add Lavender essential oil (I put 10 drops of organic essential oil). Lavender has gentle and calming influence on our body and it contains violet prana which is excellent for cleansing dirty energies. You can also play your favorite music, pray, play nature sounds, read. Whatever makes you feel good. If you’d like to meditate, simply will the dirty energy to come out of your body and dissolve in the water. After 20 minutes, empty your bathtub and rinse yourself so salt doesn’t stay on your body.
Go to bed and have a good night 😉
If you don’t have a bathtub (or if you don’t have 20 minutes!), do a salt water shower instead. Wash your body with lukewarm water, rinse the soap and cover your entire body (face included) with fine salt. Leave it for 1 to 2 minutes and rinse it off! Voilà! To make sure I spend enough time with the salt on my body without getting bored standing in there all salty, I usually take advantage of this time to brush my teeth.
Try not to stay in a salt water bath for more than 20 minutes (or keep your body covered in salt for more than 2 minutes) as it may deplete your body from all its energy and it will exhaust you. However you may and should do it every day in order to purify your aura. Give it a try and let me know how it feels in the comments below!
